Prosecutor Jason Stark told the court: “At approximately 8.15pm on April 22, the plaintiff was with a witness at Ferguslie Gardens when the defendant approached acting aggressively.

“He was shouting and swearing at the Complainant threatening to stab him while reaching into his jacket implying he was in possession of a bladed object.

“He said, ‘You’re lucky she’s here, otherwise I would have done a lot more.

“The accused then left the scene.”

Mr Stark told the court that at around 7.45pm on April 28, the victim was outside the city’s Piazza shopping center when Ewing approached him.

Mr Stark explained: “Ewing approached and acted aggressively saying ‘f**k off’ and called the complainant a ‘junkie b*****d’.

“And he said, ‘I’m going to slap you, I know where you live.

“The complainant reported the matter to the police and the accused was found and made no response to the warning and charge.”

Defense agent Jim Clarke called for reports to be requested given Ewing’s “young age”.

Mr Clarke also called for Ewing to be released on bail for preparing reports that the young thug was ‘now ashamed of his conduct’ which occurred while he was already on bail orders .

Mr Clarke added: “This is by no means a mitigating, but the complainant had been making advances to the girl who was mentioned in the crown’s account, and she is Mr Ewing’s younger sister – he was not in favor of it.”

Sheriff Lindsay Kooner said: ‘You are 21, I will be requesting a criminal justice social work report in this case and an assessment of the restraining order.

“But you pleaded guilty to two offenses over a short period, each with bail aggravations.

“I listened to what Mr Clarke said today and I am not prepared to grant you bail, you will be sent back for preparation of reports in the meantime.”

Sentencing was postponed until July 8, and Ewing has been remanded in the meantime.
