CSG provides mobile device and mobile access management for John Holland Group

Cloud Solutions Group (CSG), a specialist systems integrator and cloud consulting firm, announced that it has provided an integrated mobile device and access management solution for John Holland Group, one of the world’s largest service providers in construction, tunnels, railways and construction services in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

The solution supports 6,000 employees using Microsoft Intune as an enabling platform and ensures corporate data is protected on all corporate-owned iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as all accessible corporate data through personal devices.

Kier Morrison, Managing Director of Information Technology Operations at John Holland Group, said: “We needed a mobile device management solution that could be easily managed by our IT team while protecting the data of the business both on companies and on employees. owned devices. More than 300 legacy devices needed to be reset and migrated, and policies standardized or enforced consistently.

“It quickly became clear that CSG would be the best fit for our needs. We saw that their services and technical expertise could provide the level of functionality we needed and scale to match our continued growth in the future. Specifically, we were impressed with CSG’s in-depth knowledge of a suite of device management solutions and their vast knowledge of Microsoft 365 and all of its available features, which allows us to get the most out of Microsoft’s licensing agreements. our clients.

Initially, CSG defined the individual use cases that should be addressed by the solution. These included company-owned Android and iOS devices (both kiosk and user-affinity) and unmanaged personal devices.

CSG then designed basic compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployments for each of these devices. Additionally, app protection policies have been introduced to prevent corporate data from being stored outside the defined location, including SharePoint and OneDrive for Business.

Leveraging its experience in device management, CSG has automated the application of all these policies to each use case through a combination of Apple’s Device Enrollment Program, Samsung Knox, and Microsoft Intune. .

“One of the most significant benefits was a process for re-enrolling legacy devices into a supported system and preventing other devices from functioning outside of the managed solution,” said Josh Rubens, CEO and Founder of CSG.

“To do this, we have scheduled migration sessions with impacted staff. Additionally, to strengthen data protection, we have introduced several Conditional Access policies that would block unapproved applications, such as third-party email clients. This would limit users to only being able to use the approved application to access John Holland data and apply MFA if necessary.

A phased roll-out approach proved successful, as the suite of policies was phased in on time and within budget.

“CSG, working with John Holland, provided a clear and concise communication plan that ensured the changes we made were widely accepted by our employees,” Morrison said.

“We now have a solution that enables fully automated configuration of all new Android and iOS devices and protects corporate data on all mobile devices.

“At the same time, while our experience in change management ensures that the IT team is empowered to successfully deploy change to end users, I am confident that we have a powerful and adaptable platform that will support our operations in the years to come. We view CSG as a valued and trusted business partner.
