PNB Unveils Video Call Feature for Life Certificate Submission: Check Details Here

The public sector lender Punjab National Bank has inaugurated a video call service for the submission of life certificates or Jeevan Pramaan Patra for the convenience of central government pensioners. In the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic, this measure will allow state pensioners to make it easier than ever to submit their life certificate. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Claims and Pensions, the Department of Pensions and Retired Welfare (DoPPW) recently extended until February 28, 2022 the deadline for submitting a life certificate for central government pensioners of all age groups. be able to submit life certificates easily and securely from the comfort of their own home, thanks to PNB’s new video-based customer identification process (V-CIP) and a further extension of the deadline declared by the DoPPW.

How do I submit a life certificate via the PNB V-CIP?

  • Visit and under the drop-down menu of “Online Services”, click on “LC Submission via KYC Video”.
  • You will now be redirected to this page where you need to click on ‘Life Certificate’.
  • Now for your account verification, enter your PNB account number and your registered mobile number.
  • Now check the terms and conditions and click then click ‘Continue’.
  • Now enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number and enter your Aadhaar number.
  • Now accept the terms and conditions to continue and enter OTP for Aadhaar verification.
  • Now select your pension type and if you select “Regular pension”, click on “Submit a video life certificate request”.
  • And if you select “Household Boarding”, you need to enter the required details of your employment and marital status and then click on “Submit Video Life Certificate Application”.
  • Now your life certificate submission request will be successfully completed.
  • Now note the video life certificate process and carefully read the instructions for Android and iOS.
  • Now click on “Call now” and make sure you have enabled your browser permission, then click on “Start calling”.
  • Now please wait for the bank manager to attend your call once available and during the call the bank manager will interact and ask questions as you wish for process completion.
  • The bank official will take your photo and your life certificate submission process will be completed for which you will also receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile number.

To note: PNB has also recently revised the interest rates for its savings accounts. The bank now offers an interest rate of 2.80% per annum on savings account balances below Rs. 10 lakh, 2.85% per annum on savings account balances of Rs.10 lakh and above to less than Rs.500 crore, and 3.25% per annum on savings account balances of Rs.500 crore and above, respectively, as of 1 January 2022.
