WhatsApp was all about surprises and several new features were added to the platform. June has indeed been quite a busy month for the instant messaging platform and at the end of the month, WhatsApp is expected to compete with rivals like Telegram by adding similar features. WhatsApp is reportedly working on the latest trick which is an emoji-inspired avatar for the video call feature.
According to WABetaInfo’s report, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will make the user appear as an animated avatar during video calls. These animated avatars will also replace WhatsApp profile pictures, as well as the handset’s feed and the phone’s front camera, as requested. The new feature is meant to be fun for users, and it is in development as of this writing, there is no information on when the feature will finally be available.
WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot, which features a new button that reads: “Switch to avatar”. The platform user will have to choose the switch option of the live front shooter to create and view their animated avatars.
The new animated avatar on WhatsApp will be an exciting addition to the platform and will additionally be appealing to users during video calls.
Although we have no information on what kind of animated avatars the platform will add or if they will be 2D or 3D. But all we assumed was that it would be more of an exciting new feature from the company.
