You will soon be able to link a second mobile device to your WhatsApp account

Following its cross-device feature update a few weeks ago, WhatsApp is starting work on a second version that will allow users to bind new mobile devices to their WhatsApp accounts. This will add a new section to the screen interface where you can register your other phone or tablet.

Among the many beta features of the instant messaging app currently in development, WhatsApp’s cross-device support is currently one of the best that has finally been made available to the public. With it, users can connect up to four desktop devices and a phone to their WhatsApp account and let them access the app’s services almost anywhere.

However, some users have more mobile devices, so the one-phone-per-account limitation can be overwhelming. Fortunately, WhatsApp Beta is already developing more features and will soon introduce a “second version”. This will allow you add another phone to your supported devices via the “Register the device as a companion” characteristic.

This new section will only appear when you open WhatsApp on another phone. It will show instructions on how to link your new phone to your account and will require one of your linked devices to work first. Similar to the operation of the multi-device function, it will display a QR Code you can scan. For now, WhatsApp is working on supporting secondary phones, but users can possibly link tabletstoo.

There is no beta test release date announced for it yet, but we can expect it to be available for all WhatsApp platforms eventually. Either way, this will be a great addition to the app’s handy feature list, especially for business accounts, as WhatsApp Business is developing an optional subscription plan that offers a bigger limit on devices taken. in charge.
